The basic engine calibration, aimed at achieving the best consumption and performance targets by optimizing control parameters, is carried out in Engine Testing Rooms equipped with the most modern technologies, which allow dynamic automatic tests with in-depth analysis of the combustion cycle to be carried out. The real-time measurement of all polluting substances emitted by the engine and by auxiliary systems such as the SCR device makes it possible to instantly assess the effect of changes made during the tuning activity.
The times needed to tune the parameters at the engine test bench are constantly reduced thanks to a team dedicated to the automation of complex test cycles and to the development of automatic and post-processing tools that also allow an increase in the repeatability of the tests carried out.

The tuning of engine control parameters with an impact on polluting emissions is carried out that the TUV-certified laboratory. This laboratory is equipped with three roller test benches and a sophisticated measuring system used to analyze conventional emissions, mass and number of particulate matter particles emitted by diesel and GDI engines, as required by Euro6 regulations.
A specific roller test bench for motorbikes is used to calibrate the engine control devices in order to comply with the increasingly stringent regulations for two-wheel vehicles.

The roller test bench for high-speed tests allows the safe execution of tests aimed at optimizing engine control parameters and components with vehicle speeds of up to 200 km/h and room temperatures of up to 40°C.
The climate roller test bench with double axle for vehicles with 4-wheel drive is used to carry out dynamic tests even on vehicles with hybrid-type torque generation, with temperatures ranging from -35° to 60°C. This is the only type of testing equipment that can be used to verify the extreme operating conditions to which automobiles are subjected during their lifetime.
The motorbike roller test bench for high performances makes it possible to develop riding profiles through robots with temperatures from 0°C to +45°C and speeds of up to 300 km/h. This way, specialists can calibrate all control unit parameters under transitory and stabilized conditions up to extreme operating conditions for motorbikes, however with the utmost safety and repeatability.
The tuning activities of self-diagnostics and safety functions of the engine control unit are carried out in static work stations that allow tests to be carried out with room temperatures from -30°C to +60°C.
