1,5 million Fiat 500 produced at the Tychy plant
New prestigious milestone for the Fiat 500 of the modern era. From the assembly shifts of the Polish plant in Tychy is in fact rolled out the 1,5 millionth unit of the Turin model, a Pop white ice version, equipped with the 69 bhp 1.2 petrol engine and destined to a French customer.
The milestone was reached eight years and four months after the official launch of the car that is the successor ot the legendary model on sale in late fifties.
Today, the Fiat 500 is distributed in over 100 international markets and it is a true world car as witnessed by the fact that 75% of sales are outside of Italy.
During these five years and a half of its career, the 500 was also awarded with numerous prestigious international awards, including the 2008 car of the Year.
The car excels in its segment (A) thanks also to its 7 airbags, the ESP on the entire range and of the two-cylinder TwinAir engine family.
Among the secrets of the success of the 500, the ability to evolve with new versions like the 500 Abarth in 2008 and the Nuova 500 last July, but also exploring new territories with a family of innovative cars such as the 500L (launched in 2012), 500L Trekking and Living in 2013 and the 500X in 2014.
