BMW to expand EV charging stations network in Malaysia
At the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia, the local division of the BMW Group has announced a strengthening of the partnership with GreenTech Malaysia.
Under the project, the goal is to increase the number of stations dedicated to charging for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles in the emerging South-East Asian market bringing it to about 1,000 units by the end of next year.
To benefit most from the expansion of the charging network will be the Malaysian cities of Selangor, Kedah, Johor, Melaka, Perak, Pahang and Tarengganu.
BMW is satisfied with the sales trend in Malaysia of its X5 xDrive40e and 330e models, while the Malaysian government expects to have on the roads 100,000 electric vehicles in five years.
