BMW to start pre-production of its X7 in Spartanburg
The new BMW X7 is almost reality. The great SAV of the Bavarian carmaker is in fact in the pre-production phase at the American factory in Spartanburg, South Carolina, waiting for the official presentation to be held by the end of next year.
In these twelve months the X7 will be subjected to road tests, even in the most extreme conditions (in particular in the Silicon Valley desert and on the Scandinavian snowy tracks), to evaluate all the key factors for the success of a model, starting from quality and from security.
The BMW new entry will be assembled on the same shift of X5 and X6 in what is the largest factory in the world for the entire BMW Group with 411 thousand units built in 2016, 70% of which exported to 140 international markets.
The arrival of the X7 will increase the capacity of Spartanburg to 450 thousand units a year.
