Carlos Ghosn does not lose optimism about electric cars
The sales results are certainly lower than initially expected, however the Nissan Leaf has gained an important place in the market. But Nissan-Renault chief executive Carlos Ghosn insists that the future is still bright for electric cars.
The goal, delayed for few years compared to the original plans (by 2020), is in any case set at about 1.5 million zero-emission vehicles sold worldwide.
The Lebanese manager is confident especially on the consolidation of the Leaf (at a rate of almost 60,000 cars sold a year), and also on sales of the Renault Zoe model which will increase in 2014.
