Chinese BYD to open Morocco plant
Also the Chinese BYD shows great interest in the emerging Moroccan market where the Renault and Peugeot French brands are already active.
The carmaker has in fact signed a memorandum of understanding with local authorities to build a production plant in the city of Tangier where there will also be a production line dedicated to the assembly of batteries for electrified vehicles.
The agreement was signed in Casablanca by the King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, and BYD's Chairman, Wang Chuanfu.
The plant will host the production of electric cars, buses and trucks and will employ around 2,500 employees.
