Ford Europe: best first quarter sales performance since 2011
Ford Europe closed its best first quarter sales performance since 2011. The carmaker outpaced the entire continental market and from January to March has sold 335,100 vehicles in the 20 traditional European countries, 12.5% more than the same period of the last year.
Total vehicle market share rose by 0.2 percentage points to 8.2% allowing Ford to keep the second position in the region. The first quarter was also the best since 2012 in term of passenger cars sales (+ 6.5% to 264,440 units).
Ford has also reached the European leadership of light commercial vehicles, the first time since 1997. Sales were up 42.4% to 70,646 units due to the success of the new generation of Transit.
