Ford has suspended again production at its St. Petersburg plant
The joint venture between Ford and Russian Sollers is again forced to suspend production activities in the plant in Vsevolozhsk, near St. Petersburg. The carmaker will probably laid off 700 employees as part of cost optimization.
Compared to the excellent results in the previous years, the economic situation in the Russian market has gradually deteriorated and the issue in Ukraine does not help for a recovery. Above all there is a sharp drop in demand for C-segment cars.
