Ford to invest at its Welsh engine plant
Ford has approved an investment of 181 million pounds, around 250 million euros, intended to strengthen the productive activity at the Welsh engine plant in Bridgend.
The US carmaker will assemble, beginning in late 2018, a new family of petrol engines technologically advanced. The total costs also include support from 14,670,000 pounds guaranteed by the Welsh Government.
The Bridgend factory was inaugurated in May 1980, it currently employs 1,860 workers and produces the multi awarded 1 liter EcoBoost engine, which equips more than one-in-five of all Ford vehicles sold in Europe.
