GM will build a new plant in Indonesia with Saic
General Motors has announced the project to build a production plant in Indonesia leveraging its consolidated Chinese joint venture with Saic and Wuling, mainly specialized in light commercial vehicles.
The factory (construction of the facility is planned to begin soon) will be built near the capital Jakarta and it will assemble Wuling brand vehicles for the Asian country. The vehicles will be sold primarily in Indonesia, with plans to potentially export them to other regional markets. GM and Saic would invest 700 million dollars in Indonesia to build vehicles.
