Honda opens to new partnerships
"If we understood that they would give us growth opportunities, we would be widely open to enter into new international alliances." Honda's new chief executive, Takahiro Hachigo, said at his first news conference.
The manager said he currently has no plans to offer support for airbag maker Takata (which is embroiled in the biggest recall in U.S. automotive history).
Hachigo also said that Honda likely cannot hit its annual car sales target of 6 million vehicles by March 2017, an aggressive goal laid out by his predecessor Takanobu Ito. Expected finally the start of production for the Accord model in Nigeria.
