Honda ready to relaunch its UK factory in Swindon
Honda is reorganizing its historic British factory in Swindon. The goal is to relaunch the production rates that, after the peak of 230,423 units in 2008, have plunged to less than 120,000 units last year.
The program for the reorganization of the plnt includes a focus on the five-door Civic model which will be exported outside of Europe and for the first time also in America.
The hoped boom in term of sales for the five-door Civic should compensate for the loss of future Jazz, which will be launched in summer and manufactured in Japan, and of the CR-V, which will be assembled by the end of 2016 in Canada.
