Hyundai returns to the Tucson name
Hyundai has released the first teaser that shows the design of the new Tucson, a name that the Korean carmaker will revive in Europe to replace the ix35. The new C segment compact SUV will have its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show.
This new compact SUV will be a big step forward for the Hyundai brand global strategy. The Tucson name will become a symbol for the sport utility models made by the Korean carmaker. As noted by Peter Schreyer, Hyundai's chief design officer, the all-new Tucson has a bold and athletic presence combined with a dynamic design with sharper, cleaner lines that enhance its robustness.
An aggressive look that is emphasized by a powerful silhouette with a larger chrome-trimmed hexagonal grille, smaller, more angular wrap-around headlamps.
The Tucson will have the task to consolidate the European tradition of the Hyundai SUV that has already sold more than 1 million units since the launch of Santa Fe model in the early 2000s until the recent ix35 that sold 60,000 units in Italy.
