Maruti Suzuki will start producing electric cars by 2020
CEO R.C. Bhargava has made official that Maruti Suzuki plans to start the production of electric models starting from 2020 using the incentives promised by the New Delhi authorities to encourage the development of alternative fuels in India.
An important contribution will come from the partnership between the parent company Suzuki and Toyota for the assembly of zero emission vehicles.
Suzuki itself is building a new factory in the Gujarat region for the production of batteries for electric vehicles.
In the meantime, Maruti Suzuki will also work to create an adequate infrastructure to support the green offensive.
