Mazda to export in the Asean countries its CX-5 made in Malaysia
Mazda strengthens its position in the emerging Asean regions with the new CX-5 SUV produced in Malaysia where the model has just been marketed with a sales target of 500-600 units per month, that could be potentially doubled depending on demand.
The SUV is already exported to Thailand and by the end of the year will also debut in Cambodia, the Philippines, Indonesia and Myanmar. CX-5 is produced at the Kulim plant in the northwestern region of Kedah, with an annual capacity of about 20,000 units.
Over the past three years, the Japanese carmaker sales in the Asean grew by 41%.
