Mazda returns to the rotary engine, in optical electrification
As known, Mazda will launch its first electric vehicles in 2020 as part of its long-term technology development program "Sustainable Zoom-Zoom 2030".
What was not yet known is that the brand intends to reach the range electrification through a unique technological approach, which also includes a return to the rotary engine.
The manufacturer will initially launch two different products in the EV field: a first series powered exclusively by batteries, the other that will exploit the combined work of the batteries and of a small rotary engine, light and exceptionally silent, which will have the function of range extender.
This engine will recharge the battery when necessary, to increase the autonomy of the vehicle.
