McLaren P1 under 7 minutes on the old Nürburgring circuit
The new McLaren P1 enters strongly in the exclusive club of driver’s car able to complete a lap of the old Nürburgring circuit (20.8 km) in less than 7 minutes to average speed in excess of 178 km/h. Power of the perfection for a carmaker that, in its long history of sports, has always done everything possible to improve performance by up to a tenth of a second.
"An unbelievably impressive result", this was the commentary of McLaren Formula 1 driver, Jenson Button, who led the P1 on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. The P1 is a pure hybrid supercar. The engine is a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 from 727 horse power coupled to an electric motor of 176 hp with a total capacity of more than 900 hp with consequent acceleration times from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds.
