Mitsubishi China joint-venture reaches 5 million engines produced
The Shenyang Aerospace Mitsubishi Motors Engine Manufacturing joint venture, founded in 1997 and operating from the following year, celebrated the prestigious 5 million engine production mliestone at the Shenyang Chinese factory.
In recent years, acceleration in assembly activities has been steady as evidenced by the previous 3 million engines milestone in 2014 and 4 millions last year.
The factory builds 1.3, 1.5, 1.6, 1.8, 2.0 and 2.4 engines designed to equip not only Mitsubishi models distributed in the country, but also models from other Chinese manufacturers.
On a stock level, the joint venture is held by 30% by China Aerospace Automotive Industry Group, 25% by Mitsubishi Motors, 21% by Shenyang Jianhua Motors Engine, 14.7% by MCIC Holdings Sdn and by 9.3% by Mitsubishi Corporation.
