Opel announces the renewal of the range by 2020
Between the start of 2019 and the end of 2020, Opel will launch eight completely new or renewed models, investing primarily in the most profitable segments and registering the highest volumes.
This was announced by Opel CEO Michael Lohscheller, who said: "At the end of the two-year period, Opel will have a range with one of the lowest average age among all volume producers".
The initiative is aimed at implementing the product offensive envisaged by Opel's PACE plan to meet the needs of its customers and ensure compliance with the strict European guidelines on CO2 emissions that will come into force in 2020.
With the PACE plan! Opel is committed to bringing at least one new model to the market every year. In 2019 the company will launch the next generation of Corsa.
In 2020 the successor of Opel Mokka X will arrive, which will play a key role in the strategy aimed at bringing the percentage of sales of Opel SUVs from 25 to 40% by 2021.
"Opel becomes electrical" was one of the commitments made in November 2017 as part of the PACE! Plan.
The new 5-seater electric Race and Grandland X PHEV in plug-in hybrid version will be available from the summer of 2019.
By the end of 2020, Opel will have a total of four electric models and in 2024 an electric version of each Opel model will be available.
