Porsche opens a new plant for eight-cylinder engines
Porsche has officially inaugurated a new plant that will be used for the production of eight-cylinder engines.
The factory, which is located near the General Headquarter in Zuffenhausen, will benefit from the most modern production methods and, thanks to the contribution of 400 employees, it will be able to produce at full plant utilisation around 200 eight-cylinder V-engines daily.
For the construction of the new production factory the German manufacturer has invested a sum of just under 80 million Euros.
Therefore an important step to consolidate the image of a traditionally engaged brand in the production of sporty high-performance engines. At the same time Porsche is creating the necessary foundation for successfully leading the brand into the new age of electric mobility.
The new facility will also allow to further increase synergies within the VW Group since at Zuffenhausen plant will be produced the eight-cylinder V-engines for all Group brands.
