Renault aims to reach a 6% market share in China
During the release of the Group's sales in 2014, President Carlos Ghosn anticipates that Renault will make massive investments in China to reduce the huge gap that separates it from the local leaders Volkswagen, General Motors and also PSA.
Last year, Renault sold just 34,000 cars in China (non to mention VW and GM, the PSA Group has sold 734,000 units), but the French carmaker is ready to launch the joint venture with Dongfeng to consolidate its position in the main market in the world.
The new Wuhan factory is under construction and it will have an initial capacity of 100,000 vehicles a year. Ghosn said that the goal for Renault is to conquer a 6% share of the local market in the medium-long term.
