Renault delivered its 100,000th electric car
Five years after the official launch of its first zero-emission car, Renault has delivered its 100,000th Zoe electric car, to a Norwegian customer in Oslo.
The French manufacturer is a pioneer in this particular segment that now dominates in Europe thanks to an extensive range that includes, in addition to Zoe, Twizy, SM3 (bestseller in the category in Korea) and Kangoo models.
Leadership fully confirmed in the first half of 2016 with over 15 000 electric vehicles sold (excluding the Twizy quadricycle), representing an increase of 32% over the same period last year.
On European roads, one in every four electric vehicles is a Renault and in France half of all electric cars are Renaults. The best-selling Renault EV model in absolute is the Zoe is with a 23% market share among private customers.
The most popular in the various car-sharing initiatives in Europe and North America, however, is the Twizy, even Cargo.
