The Technical Center of the Opel headquarters will become a laboratory for electric mobility
The Technical Center of the Opel office in Rüsselsheim will become the electric mobility laboratory where, together with the University of Kassel and the companies specializing in charging infrastructure Flavia IT and Plug'n Charge, the car company will carry out research on the ideal electric network structure of the future.
The three-year "E-Mobility-LAB Hessen" project will be supported by the Hessen Ministry of Economy, Energy, Transport and Development through the funding provided by the European Regional Development Fund.
In its Technical Center, Opel will develop an intelligent charging infrastructure system for electric cars with the installation in a few months of the first columns at the Rüsselsheim plant and at the Rodgau-Dudenhofen Test Center.
The project was developed together with the House of Energy, the Hessian think tank for the energy transition.
