Toyota to strenghten its operations in Egypt
Toyota further strengthens its operations in Egypt with an investment of the equivalent of 8.5 million dollars to create a new assembly shift at a local factory to consolidate the Fortuner SUV production.
The Japanese carmaker has already planned other major expenses in the next five years to make its presence more and more focused in the emerging North African market.
Toyota builds the SUV in partnership with the Arab American Vehicles company and thanks to the latest investment it will improve the localization of component parts in the country by up to 46%.
The subsidiary Toyota Motor Engineering Egypt aims to increase production to about 3,000 units per year.
