Volkswagen brand delivers more than 900,000 vehicles in the first two months
Worldwide sales of the Volkswagen brand in February were up by 1,5% compared with the same month of the last year at 407,600 units.
Since the beginning of the year the result is even better with a surge of 3.3% compared to the first two months of 2013 and a total of 923,100 units sold.
"Even though the situation in some markets was at times difficult, the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand continued to develop well" said Christian Klingler, Board Member for Sales and Marketing for the Volkswagen Group.
In the period from January to February, Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand has grown by 5.9% to 245,200 units on overall European market, while in Western Europe (excluding Germany) rose 7.8 percent to 124,800 cars.
VW has also gained ground in Central and Eastern Europe, in Germany, and in Asia/Pacific (excellent performance in China), but showed decreases in other markets. The German carmaker has indeed lost 11% in Russia, 9.3% in North America, and 18.1% in South America.
