VW Golf reached record fuel consumption in US
The Golf TDI Clean Diesel earned a place in the Guinness Book of Records after 16 days of road tests, reaching a record in term of fuel consumption of 2.9 l/100 km. The test was conducted on the streets of 48 states in US (except Alaska and Hawaii) in a unique tour.
The car has covered a total of 13,240 kilometers and has been constantly monitored by technicians from the Guinness World Records team. The driving team who carried out the test was made by the journalist and blogger Wayne Gerdes and the engineer Bob Winger.
This is the second award received by the Golf in the USA. Last January, in fact, the sedan was named "North American Car of the Year".
