VW Group delivers over ten million vehicles for first time
An historical international milestone for the Volkswagen Group that delivers over ten million vehicles for the first time, four years ahead of the target set in origin.
If the 10.14 million vehicles sold in 2014 (+ 4.2% compared to 2013) will be sufficient to reach the world leadership against Toyota we'll officially know only in a couple of weeks when the Japanese Group will disclose the data.
An enthusiastic Chairman Martin Winterkorn wanted to emphasize that the exceedances of the 10 million vehicles sold is only the first concrete result of the growth program Strategy 2018.
The VW Group gained 5.1% throughout Europe (well in Germany, bad only in Russia) and 11.3% in Asia Pacific (+ 12.4% in China to 3.68 million units), remaining stable in North America, and loosing 16.6% in South America.
Among the brands, VW has grown to more than 6 million units (another record), Audi by 10.5%, 17.1% for Porsche, Seat 10% and Skoda 12.7% overcoming for the first time the milestone of 1 million units sold.
